Abstract

The musical tale is a genre of very diverse origin and original format. The present investigation demonstrates how the composer can generate the story from written music. At the same time, how music can be understood in three different ways: independently of the narrated text, with the text and also with a staging. The instrumentation proposed in this work enables the use of a reduced or expanded template according to the possibilities of each group. Finally, a new harmonic paradigm associated with modality will allow us to recognize a new conception of composition that is based on the use of modes as reference points for sound polarization, polymodality, and musical structures in the form of simple and complex timbral textures.
